OCEAN RESEARCH & EXPLORATION

My research interests include the landscape ecology of fishes (where do fish go and why), the ecological effects of fishing (how do bottom trawls impact the seafloor), and the design and evaluation of spatial management regimes (how to better manage the marine environment).  And the results of that research have lead me to Washington, D.C. to help draft a Presidential Executive Order and to brief Congress (both the Senate and the House of Representatives) as well as to several countries around the world to assist with project development and monitoring efforts.
